Here is rule for doubled consonant, also known as the small "っ"
促音 (सोकुओन्) is a one of the Japanese pronunciation that indicates a double consonant (gemination) or a brief pause in pronunciation. In written Japanese, it is represented by a small character in Hiragana "っ" and in Katakana "ッ"

The first rule is that when beginning with a single vowel other than "a / i / u / e / o" and three letter English words, furthermore words end with suffixes "-t / -p / -x" it is written with a small "ッ"
eg:-t rat → ラット、cat → キャット
:-p map → マップ、cup → カップ
:-x box → ボックス、tax → タックス

The sound rule is that when endings of English words "-ack / -eck / -ick / -ock / -uck / -ich / -tch / -sic / -nic / -et / ash / -ook / -cut / -nut" it is written with a small "ッ"
eg:-ack back → バック、clack → クラック
:-eck check → チェック、neck → ネック
:-ick kick → キック、trick → トリック
:-ock lock → ロック、knock → ノック
:-uck truck → トラック、stuck → スタック
:-ich sandwich → サンドイッチ、rich → リッチ
:-tch switch → スイッチ、match → マッチ
:-sic classic → クラシック、basic → ベーシック
:-nic picnic → ピクニック、clinic → クリニック
:-et cricket → クリケット、carpet → カーペット
exc. street → ストリート、sweet → スイート
:-ash cash → キャッシュ、flash → フラッシュ
:-ook book → ブック、cook → クック
